At the Beijing Marathon held on Sunday, a runner named Chen Zhendong proposed to his girlfriend when he arrived at the finish line.

Chen is a policeman in Mentougou district in western Beijing. He and his girlfriend have been together for 11 years. He intended to prove to his girlfriend that the finish line is also the starting point of their happiness.

Chen said: “I will persist in running to the finish line for our love.” His family and friends were also waiting for him at the finish line.

Chen was admitted to Beijing Police College in 2004. He met his girlfriend on the first school day. After graduation, they both serve in Beijing police stations. They finally decided to get married after a 11-year love marathon.
