To celebrate the 51st anniversary of the China-French diplomatic ties, an exhibition "Treasures of French Bourbon Dynasty" is held in the IFC mall in Shanghai from September to November. Precious furniture passed down from the Bourbon Dynasty will be displayed in China for the first time, People's Daily Online reported.

Daniel Alcouffe, honorary curator of the Louvre Museum said, "French has a special preference of Chinese art works. Sometimes, they even transform Chinese art works into French ones: they install a bronze foundation for the Chinese porcelain bottle, or take off the fan blades of the Chinese lacquer screen and inlay them on the surface of cupboards."

The exhibition displays precious antique furniture and decorations collected by the famous Kraemer Gallery of France. Visitors will have the opportunity to appreciate over 100 pieces of French cultural relics during the reign of Louis XIV (1643-1715), Louis XV (1715-1774) and Louis XVI (1774-1791), including bedroom furniture, floor clocks, candelabrum and sculptures, with a total value of 200 million yuan.
