90-year-old 'beautiful grandma' has taught for over 60 years (5)

Wang Lan, a 90-year-old Chinese teacher in Nanjing Changjiang Road Primary School, started her career in 1951. Since then, she has kept arriving at school on time every day to prepare for classes, coach young teachers, and spread the education theory she advocates -- “friendly, sincere, and beautiful”.

As an expert in Chinese language education in primary schools, she has established “Wang Lan Workroom” to share her experience with young teachers of the whole city.

“I love education, school, children, and I love those young teachers,” she said, “I feel energetic when I am in the school.”

Every day before work, she freshens herself up delicately. In children's eyes, she is a beautiful and elegant grandma. “Teaching is not sacrificing but enjoyment, not repetition but creation, not a means of making a living but a real lifestyle,” she said.
