Guo Changhai, 58, is a fisherman in Xiaojia village of Rizhao, east China's Shandong province. Since 2005, he has made seven warships models, all of which can simulate firing of shells.
Having worked as a captain for 27 years, Guo Changhai is exceptionally attached to the sea. As he gradually developed an interest in warships, he began to make warship models in his leisure time. The material he used includes waste wood boards, beverage cans, scrap iron and many other wastes. He has made seven different types of warship models in the past 10 years, each of them consisting over 1,000 parts.
In order to buy some necessary materials for making the warship models, he has spent nearly 50,000 yuan. When he lacked funding for buying the material, he did extra-works to earn money. His love for the warship model is well understood by his family: his wife and daughter all try their best to help him.
Guo has successfully made two "guided missile destroyers", four "cruisers" and one "missile destroyer". And those warship models are part of his life now.
