It has two stories and space equal to a three bedroom apartment after it fully expands. It could be the future of vehicle for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions.

The China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT) recently launched its self-developed multi-functional concept vehicle “WHALE”.

The reason for the vehicle to be named after a large and intelligent mammal "whale” is that this versatile concept has more space than other recreational vehicle.

Instead of expanding horizontally like most of vehicles in the market, WHALE can expand the space up. It looks like building a second floor on a modified car, which creates space as big as three bedrooms and a living room, or 110 square meters. The vehicle’s space utilization rate is up to 90 percent.

With extension technology, the vehicle is modified in a similar concept of exhibition in a museum. WHALE becomes the largest high-end domestic modified vehicle, combining features of products presentation, business promotion and conference.

In future, WHALE can tap into the field of broadcast vehicles as well as high-end motor homes. It has a broad market prospect.
