Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has released the pricing scheme for its newly-released handset the company hopes will compete with smartphones produced by Apple and Samsung.
The Mate S is being priced at 780 US dollars.
This is at least 150 dollars more than its previous models.
Huawei's release of the Mate S comes ahead of the anticipated release of a new iPhone model, which is expected to be released at Apple's annual product event this coming Wednesday.
Huawei's sales surged more than 46 percent in the second quarter of this year in China.
However, its 7.8 percent market share lags far behind foreign brands in the country.
