A bus driver and a group of teens have emerged as unlikely everyday heroes after they helped rescue six severely injured people from the site of a deadly car crash in southwest China's Chongqing.
The fatal crash happened on the S103 provincial avenue in Fuling district in southwest China's Chongqing on August 4. Six people were severely injured when two cars crashed into each other; the leaking of gasoline from both vehicles also created a significant fire hazard.
The driver and passengers of a bus, that happened to pass by, stopped to take care of the victims out of compassion as reported by the Chongqing Morning Post on Wednesday.
A bus driver surnamed Jiang immediately extinguished a fire that was just breaking out. After that Jiang along with other passengers helped the victims onto the bus. They took care of the victims and provided emergency first aid until a team of paramedics arrived 30 minutes later.
A 15-year-old student named Mou Yuting helped a victim suffering from a head injury. She knelt on the floor for over 30 minutes cradling the injured man's head on her lap.
Yuting's courage and determination moved countless at the scene. Although she was exhausted from having to stay absolutely still, she refused to have others replace her fearing that the injuries to the victim's head would get worse if he was moved again.
