On August 3rd, a gigantic sun-and-rain-proof umbrella exhibited on Qinde Cultural Square in Xingzi County, Jiangxi Province. The umbrella, which is designed to fold and unfold automatically, can resist 9-grade wind and cover an area of 418 square meters, with a height of 18 meters, diameter of 23 meters and weight of 5.7 tons. It takes 14 minutes for the umbrella to unfold thoroughly. A local umbrella enterprise spent 700 thousand yuan and half a year in producing the umbrella, which has set a Guinness World Record. It obtained the certificate for Guinness World Record and became the biggest sun-and-rain-proof umbrella in the world by far.
