Man plants vegetables in abandoned closestools on the roof

A roof-top vegetable garden appears in Heze, east China's Shandong Province. The garden owner is a mentally retarded man. He has planted a variety of vegetables in abandoned closestools on the building roof. The man has also built a shed to raise ducks. There is even a simple toile in the corner.

It is said that the garden owner often takes toilet dirt as fertilizer for the vegetables, and the smell has caught complaints from residents. A man who claimed himself the garden owner's brother said he is willing to clean up the debris on the roof.

Vendors get windfall from renting out stools in Tiananmen Square

On July 14 several middle-aged women rented out stools in Tiananmen Square to tourists. In order to watch flag-raising ceremony more clearly, the tourists pay the women 50 yuan for rent a stool to step on. A woman said she can earn 700 yuan a day from renting out stools.
