Chinese president Xi Jinping’s book The Governance of China offers an opportunity for the international community to learn more about China. I read the book with keen interest for it expounds China’s development philosophy and reveals political aspiration, concept of governance and the great plan of Xi Jinping. It’s an arduous task to conclude the whole content of the book so I choose to state its main points.

China has a long history, unique culture and tradition. In his book, Xi stresses that China will adamantly develop socialism with Chinese characteristics. The book, which repeatedly expounds socialism with Chinese characteristics, demonstrates that Central Committee of the Communist Party of China headed by Xi Jinping has a clear understanding of the national condition and world situation, as well as persistence in developing socialism with Chinese characteristics. Obviously, China will not try a western political model.

Xi also depicts the Chinese dream which can unite hundreds of millions of Chinese people. He said "The Chinese Dream is, in the final analysis, the dream of the people", "We must incessantly bring benefits to the people". The dream encourages Chinese people to passionately engage in pioneering work, creation and innovation. Everyone works hard for his dream, giving an impetus to Chinese rejuvenation. The nation is encouraged by clear "two centenary goals"(doubling the 2010 GDP and per capita income of urban and rural residents, finishing the building of a society of initial prosperity in all respects when the CPC celebrates its centenary, and turning China into a modern socialist country that is prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced and harmonious).

Peaceful development is China’s tradition. Xi advocates establishing a new model of international relations of win-win cooperation and repeatedly points out that China will never seek hegemony but is committed to forging a community of destiny. Xi also proposes to forge a partnership of mutual trust, inclusiveness and win-win cooperation in a bid to achieve common development and prosperity. The initiative "One Belt, One Road" and the establishment of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank are greatly welcomed by Asian countries, which beef up China’s influence in Asia and even in the world.

China loves peace so it is unwilling to see a world full of conflicts. Thus it advocates building a multipolar world and a global partnership network. It highly values cooperation with France and hopes to make true friends with EU countries. I think highly of this move. In a nutshell, The Governance of China is a good book worth reading.
