Self-proclaimed Fengshui master Wang Lin was found to be involved in an abduction and murder case, local police confirmed on Wednesday.

The victim, last name Zou, used to be Wang’s follower and was said to be very close to him. He was found missing recently.

But on July 9, police in Ping Xiang, Wang’s hometown in China’s Jiangxi province, received tips about Zou’s abduction and they started a series of investigations. On July 14, they arrested two suspects who later pleaded guilty.

After further investigation, police found Wang Lin and another his follower were involved in Zou’s abduction to murder case.

Wang Lin, born in 1952, is seen as a phony Fengshui. He first became famous for Qigong in the 1990s.

Claiming to have supernatural abilities, Wang has made friends with many Chinese celebrities and high ranking officials to enlarge his influence and fame. These celebrities include famous actor Jackie Chan and Alibaba’s Jack Ma.

In July 2013, reports exposed him and since then has been under police scrutiny. He had even fled to Hong Kong for a period to escape from investigation.
