Zhang Guangjuan has donated 45, 000 yuan she earned through collecting scraps. Every week, she goes to Dongantun flea market in Changchun, Jilin province to sell second-hand items. She takes notes of everything she sold. Zhang goes out to collect old things at 3 a.m. every day in the past 16 years. She has donated all the money to those in need.

Another incredible thing she has done is she donated 2,000 yuan to the victims of Tangshan earthquake in 1976. 2,000 yuan is a huge sum at that time, equivalent to her six-year salary. “I felt sorry for the victim of the earthquake, so I hope I can do my bit,” said Zhang.
