By 2030, China will have 230 million people moving from rural to urban areas and 80 million people moving inside the urban areas. The floating population will increase from 254 million in 2014 to 310 million, according to Wang Pei'an, vice minister of National Health and Family Planning Commission of China.

“The adjustment in China's economic growth will have a profound impact on economic and social development and bring a huge change in demographic trends in migration flows and the related service management system," Wang said.

Wang noted that population movements and changes in the family structure will also bring challenges to public services and social governance. The National Health and Family Planning Commission will promote the reform of the management system, implement convenient services and improve the equalization of basic public health services to face the challenges brought by the urbanization in China.
