SYDNEY, July 6 -- Situated in the Central Highlands region of Tasmania in Australia, Cradle Mountain was visited by Australian aborigines more than 35,000 years ago. It is now a part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. You may not know that the Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park shares a "Twin Parks" agreement with the World Heritage listed Jiuzhaigou Nature Reserve in China.
When you come to the national park, you will find a lot to explore, the amazing landscape, ancient rainforest, unique button grass, crystalline lake, cute wombats, wallabies and even the endangered Tasmanian devil. Cradle Mountain's most popular hiking trail is the Dove Lake Circuit. This 6km circuit weaves its way through rainforest and past quartzite beaches.
