Villagers climb to cross newly-built bridge without bridge approach

For the convenience of local villagers, the transportation authority in Xiaochang county, central China’s Hubei Province has invested 2.48 million yuan to build a new bridge over the Huanshui River. However, two months after its completion, vehicles still cannot drive on the bridge because there is no bridge approach. Drivers have to climb on the bridge and walk home, leaving their cars behind. A government official said that they will coordinate with the transportaion department and solve the problem as soon as possible.

Robber arrested after forcing woman to transfer 2,000 yuan to his Alipay account

A layabout in Nanjing robbed a single woman late at night because he did not have enough money for going back hometown. After forcing the woman to give him all the cash with her, he asked her to transfer 2,000 yuan to his Alipay (an online payment system) account. The police soon caught the robber through the information of his Alipay account.

DNA test taken to prove "the calf is yours"

A villager surnamed Fang lost his one-and-half-year-old calf in the middle of April this year in Xinjian county, southeast China’s Jiangxi province. The calf is worth about 4,000 yuan. After looking for more than 20 days, the calf was found in the neighboring village. A villager surnamed Liu has kept the calf.

Fang reported to the police station in his town, however, the police station in the neighboring town was also involved because the neighboring village is under its governance. The neighboring police station asked Fang to prove "the calf is yours". Fang had to take a DNA test for the calf. The DNA test cost Fang 6,500 yuan.The test shows that the calf and Fang’s cow have blood relationship. However, Liu still refused to return the calf. The case is currently under mediation.
