BEIJING, Dec. 31  -- The Communist Party of China's (CPC) official newspaper, "The People's Daily", will call for greater courage, commitment and patience of efforts to build the country, in an editorial on Thursday.

"Every one should do their share to make the country more prosperous, ensure justice, improve social welfare and [...] promote peace, development and cooperation," the article says.

Looking back on 2014, the article hails reform achievements, counter-corruption efforts and the breaking of new ground in diplomacy.

It also comments on progress regarding the rule of law; the frugality campaign; and awareness of the nation's history and culture.

More efforts are needed, the article says, to achieve President Xi Jinping's goals concerning reform, rule of law, CPC management and economic balance.

Further, it urges greater courage in the contemporary world environment, greater commitment of the Party and the people to do practical work, as well as patience while the country works toward achieving its end goal.
