Li Xiuying, a survivor of Nanjing Massacre takes part in the International Peace Assembly. She was born on Jan. 1, 1918. On Dec. 19, 1937, Li, who was seven months into pregnancy, desperately fought against the Japanese invaders who attempted to rape her. She was stabbed 37 times by Japanese soldiers and was later sent to Nanjing Gulou Hospital. She lost her baby. She died at the age of 86. (CNS/Yang Bo) |
