38 year old Jia Haibo was an ambulance driver with the emergency center of Jiamusi, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province. On October 24 2014, he suffered a sudden brain hemorrhage while in the middle of transporting a patient. Jia died after delivering the patient safely. His dedication to his work moved many people.

At 08:55 on October 24, the Jiamusi Emergency Center received a call from a patient with a severe case of diabetes. Jia Haibo, driver and first aider, hurried to the patient's home with a doctor and other first aiders. After helping take the patient to the ambulance, Jia suddenly felt unwell. When the doctor asked him if it was serious, he replied: "There is a patient in the car. Let's take him to the hospital first."

While he was driving, his colleague in the front passenger seat saw that his face had gone pale. He tried to persuade Jia to stop and wait for another driver to replace him. Jia insisted: "The patient is critical. I can make it." Five minutes later the ambulance arrived safely at the front door of the hospital, but Jia slumped to the steering wheel. Despite attempts to resuscitate him, Jia lost his young life.

On the internet, local people call Jia "the finest ambulance driver". A netizen offered this praise: "He gave the hope of life to the patient and took the risk upon himself. His deed displayed the most beautiful aspect of humanity."
