BEIJING, Oct. 27 -- China's national political advisors held a meeting in Beijing on Monday to discuss the blueprint of legal reform adopted by a key Party session last week.

The plan has raised a general target and major tasks for comprehensively advancing rule of law and will leave a profound impact on the country, said Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), at a meeting of the Standing Committee.

Realizing the rule of law is vital for the country's national revival, further reforms, development of socialism in China as well as the improvement of the CPC's governance, he said.

Yu expected political advisors to fully discuss the plan and offer their ideas on how to implement it.

Meng Jianzhu, head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, was invited to brief the political advisors on the legal reform plan at the meeting.

The CPPCC can play an important role in carrying out the plan through offering advice and supervising the related authorities, Meng said.
