This is the story of a nonagenarian couple's romantic love that has lasted 60 years, who named Cao Yuehua and Wang Deyi.
Cao Yuehua was born in an intellectual family in southwest China's Sichuan Province on Sept 18, 1918. He graduated from Fudan University and became an interpreter for US army in Kunming, where he encountered the love of his whole life: Wang Deyi.
Wang Deyi was a girl from aristocratic family, who graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University. They met with each other in a Friendship Association activity. And they fell in love at first sight.
"My darling, please give me a reply. After the war, I will build a castle on the ground, in which we can listen to the song of cuckoo beside the stove fire…" A touching love letter closely connected the hearts of two lovers during the World War II.
After the war, Cao went back to Kunming. Since then, they have lived together. Now this couple lives in a simple house and enjoys their happy life.
