The surrender of Japanese army in Guangzhou and Shantou

Zhang Fakui, Commander-in-Chief of Chinese 2nd Front Army, was authorized to accept the surrender of Japanese 23rd Army, Japanese 129th Division, Japanese 13th Division and 130th Divisions, Japanese 13th, 22nd, 23rd and 81st Independent Brigade groups and Hainan Guard Infantry Regiments in Guangzhou, south China’s Guangdong province. Zhang accepted the surrender of Hisakazu Tanaka, representative from the Empire of Japan on September 16, 1945.

Yu Hanmou, Commander-in-Chief in the 7th War Area, was authorized to accept the surrender of Japanese 104th Division, an artillery battalion of Japanese 130th Division and Japanese Chaoshan Area Detachment in Shantou, south China’s Guangdong province. Yu accepted the surrender of Hisakazu Tanaka on September 28, 1945.
