CONTINUOUS GAZAN CASUALTIES
Fresh rounds of Israeli bombardment against the Gaza Strip killed on Tuesday afternoon eight Palestinians and wounded ten others, medics and witnesses said.
Ashraf al-Qedra, health ministry spokesman in Gaza, told reporters that six Gazans were killed and ten wounded in separate airstrikes carried out by Israeli war jets and tanks on various areas in the Gaza Strip.
Al-Qedra had earlier said that two young men were brought dead to the hospital after they were struck riding a car by Israeli war jets' missiles in the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahia.
He said that so far, 60 Palestinians were killed on Tuesday, adding that the death toll since the beginning of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip in July 8, topped 617 dead and 3,750 wounded, most of whom civilians.
Meanwhile, the health minister in the Palestinian unity government Jawad Awwad sent on Tuesday an urgent appeal to the international medical organizations, urging them to take immediate action.
"The humanitarian and health situation in the Gaza Strip is catastrophic," he said, adding that such a situation is threatening to crumble hospitals and medical facilities in the region, rendering them unable to provide its badly-needed services to the people.
He said since the start of the Israeli military campaign on Gaza, Israel has bombed 25 health centers and hospitals, the latest attack was on al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deel al-Ballah in central Gaza Strip on Monday.
