Tung Congratulates Chinese National Team

Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Tung Chee Hwa on Sunday congratulated the Chinese National Team for qualifying for the World Cup 2002.

"The achievement is unprecedented for the Chinese National Team and also reaffirms the success of the Nation in sports soon after Beijing winning the right to host the 2008 Olympics," he said.

"We will all watch with abiding interest and pride the World Cup, which will be held for the first time in Asia, in South Korea and Japan, next year," he said.
