Pakistani Troops Not to Enter Afghanistan: MusharrafPakistani President Pervez Musharraf said on Sunday that the Pakistani government would not sent troops through the borders into Afghanistan as he reassured cooperation with the United States in three areas including offer of air space, intelligence sharing and logistic support. In an interview with the Cable News Network (CNN), Musharraf said he received neither operation plan from the U.S. so far nor evidence showing Osama bin Laden's involvement in the September 11 terrorist attacks. "We are still interacting with the Taliban" to try to change their views in meeting the concerns of the international community, said the president, claiming that "some progress have been made and more will come " in this regard. He also emphasized that Afghanistan "concerns us the most." Musharraf reiterated during the interview his confidence of domestic situation by saying no destabilization took place in Pakistan and "there is no terrorist group" within the country. In display of the national solidarity mustered behind him, Musharraf put Pakistani population into three groups -- the religious extremists, high-and-middle class and the working class, stressing that he had in his nation-wide address last week tried to form national unity in face of current difficulties.
