East China Province Hosts Exhibition Commemorating Sun Yat-sen

An exhibition featuring revolutionary forerunner Sun Yat-sen (1866-1925) opened Thursday in Nanjing, this capital of Jiangsu Province.

The exhibition, jointly sponsored by the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum in Nanjing and the Sun Yat-sen Memorial in Taiwan, is being held to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Revolution of 1911 -- the Chinese democratic revolution led by Sun which overthrew the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

The exhibition includes three parts: historical objects and documents providing information on Sun's life and revolutionary experiences, portraits of ancient and modern Chinese celebrities, and 100 paintings by Chinese artists.

Along with the exhibition, a seminar will be held on cross-straits exchanges and cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism and economy.
