Over 500 Pupils Poisoned by Eating Pathogenic Food in Shanghai

The food poisoning accident that happened in a Shanghai primary school has aroused close attention from the society. To date, more than 500 pupils have gone to see doctors after their lunch on September 4 and the exact number of poisoned pupils is still under investigation.

Local departments concerned said that the fried hair-tail provided by the school canteen on September 4 with the infectious diarrhea bacilli was primarily regarded as the crime culprit for this accident.

Currently, the sanitation tipstaff has closed the school eatery with disinfecting measures taken. The Shanghai government has sent preventive medicines to the teachers and pupils for killing the infectious bacilli. And five experts were also teamed for taking charge of the treatment for poisoned pupils. According to official from Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau, they will make thorough investigations to decide the responsibility for this accident in line with the laws.

Sources from the hospital say that conditions of the four severely poisoned pupils who have been given terminally ill notices have taken a turn for the better after receiving clysis and treatment for diminishing inflammation.
