China Hands over Meteorological Equipment to Vietnam

China State Meteorological Administration on Thursday handed over some meteorological instruments to the Hydrometeorological Service of Vietnam (HMS).

The instruments, including nine sets of rainfall equipment, were granted to Vietnam under a voluntary cooperation program of the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO).

At a hand-over ceremony Thursday, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Qi Jianguo, on behalf of the China State Meteorological Administration, and the Director General of HMS Nguyen Cong Thanh signed the hand-over memorandum.

Thanh thanked the Chinese government and the China State Meteorological Administration for the aid and described meteorological instruments made in China as very suitable to Vietnam's weather condition.
