Guilin to Host Eighth Tourism Festival
China's Guilin, well known for its picturesque mountains and rivers, will hold its Eighth Mountain and River Tourism Festival from April 15 to 20, a local official said Sunday.
The major celebrations will take place in Xing'an County, which is in the northeastern part of Guilin and famous for the country's best-preserved ancient irrigation work -- the Lingqu Canal.
Meanwhile, a trade fair will be held during the festival, the official said.
Guilin received a record 9.63 million tourists last year, among whom 950,000 were from abroad.
