East China Province Cementing Information Expressway
East China's Jiangsu Province plans to pour 120 billion yuan (about US$14.45 billion) into information expressway construction in the coming five years.
Of the total investment, 25 billion yuan (about US$3.01 billion) will be used this year, sources said.
Major investment will go to the construction of a high-speed, broad-band and high-capacity information transmission network, and broad network access.
Projects to be completed this year will include expansion of the GSM project, the first phase of a CDMA (code division multiple access) project and other telecommunications transmission programs.
