Israel Suspends Diplomatic Talks with Palestinians

Israel cancelled scheduled meeting with Palestinian negotiators for diplomatic discussion due to "the violence on the ground," an official in Israeli Prime Minister's Office told Xinhua a short while ago Monday morning.

The meeting between Israel and Palestinian security officers, however, may still go ahead later Monday to focus on measures to quell the violence, but its future was not immediately clear, David Baker, caretaker Prime Minister Ehud Barak's foreign press coordinator said.
