Nuremberg Int'l Toy Exhibition Expects Chinese Toy Manufacturers

Gerd Bise, chief executive officer of Spielwarenmesse eG, said here today that he looks forward to Chinese toy makers to participate in the upcoming Nuremberg International Toy Exhibition scheduled for next February.

On display at the show will be the latest products by toy makers from a number of countries. In addition to traditional handicrafts, mechanical and construction models and carnival services, interactive entertainment products will receive more attention.

Bise told a news conference that China is a toy-making giant, and his company has had a good cooperative relationship with China's Toy Association, noting he hopes to further promote the relationship between the two sides in the years ahead.

According to China's customs, China's toy exports were around 6 billion U.S. dollars last year, accounting for 10 percent of the total exports in the world. China's toy exports in the first five months of this year stood at 1.9 billion U.S. dollars, up 16 percent over the previous year.

Shi Xiaoguang, president of China's Toy Association, said that the Nuremberg International Toy Exhibition has become a window to China's toy industry, and his organization will encourage more Chinese high-tech toy manufacturers to participate in the international toy fair.

There have been more than 6,000 toy manufacturers in China with an output value at 52.5 billion yuan (about 6.3 billion U.S. dollars).

More than 100 Chinese toy makers presented their products at the fair last year
