One-way Charge for Mobile Phones not Feasible: MII official

One-way charge for mobile phones has turned out to be unsuccessful in the US and it's not feasible to adopt the one-way charge for mobile phones in China, said Zhang Xiaotie with the Ministry of Information Industry (MII).

After the transition from double-way to one-way charge for mobile phones in the United States, little progress has been made so far. The reasons lie on the strong opposition by fixed telephone subsidiaries and telecom businessmen¡¯s indifferent reflection. "The double-way charge pattern can not even succeed in the United States, so the possibility to work out in China is minor", the official is quoted as saying.
