People in Northeastern Province Keen on Traveling
Traveling has shown the biggest increase in expenditure for people in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, latest statistics show.
A survey of some 2,000 households in the province indicated that the average income of urban residents here in the first eight months of the year reached over 3,200 yuan (about 386 U.S. dollars), up 8.9 percent over the same period of last year.
The expenditure in the same period increased by 10.4 percent to reach nearly 2,500 yuan (about 301 U.S. dollars), and tourism recorded an increase of 81.9 percent, the largest among other expenditures.
Expenses involving medical care and all various daily services also had a remarkable increase, according to the survey, but food and clothes purchases showed moderate growth.
