China Witnessed Rapid Growth in High-tech Imports and Exports

China's imports and exports of high-tech products reached US$ 54.517 billion from last January to August, an increase of 43.9% over the same period of last year. It is much higher than that of the traditional industry with its imports valued at US$ 32.125, up 39% as against that of last year, and exports at US$ 22.392, up 51%.

According to Zhang Guobao, vice minister of State Development Planning Commission, though there lies a chasm between China and the developed countries, China's high-tech products can still share a seat in the world market. This year will see the export volume of China's high-tech products to reach an estimable US$ 28.7 billion. Statistics show that from last January to July China had seen an exportation of 10.36 million mobile phones, a rise of 2 folds from the same period of last year, and PC sets 1.08 million, up 6.1 folds.
