Murderers of German Family Sentenced to Death

The Intermediate People's Court in Nanjing City, the capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, on Friday granted death penalty to all four jobless youths who are convicted of murdering and robbing a German family of four.

At midnight on April 1, the four accused, Zhong Weiyang, Liu Guangyuan, Ding Shanyang, and Zhang Eryang, who are all from Shuyang County, Jiangsu Province, broke into the Nanjing residence of the Pfrang family and stabbed to death all the family members including Jurgen Hermann Pfrang and his wife, Petra Pfrang, and their two children, daughter Sandra Melanie Pfrang and Thorsten Oliver Pfrang.

Some 300 people attended an open trial on the case held from May 19-20 and today's sentencing.

Jurgen Hermann Pfrang was deputy general manager of Yaxing Benz Ltd., a Sino-German joint venture bus manufacturer based in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province.
