Vietnam, China Exchange Documents

Vietnam and China exchanged documents on the ratification of a bilateral consular agreement between the two countries in Hanoi Monday.

Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Van Nganh and Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Li Jiazhong signed the minutes on this exchange.

The agreement will take effect as of July 26, 2000.

The China-Vietnam consular agreement was signed in Beijing on October 19, 1998. President of the People's Republic of China Jiang Zemin and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam ratified the agreement on April 29, 2000 and November 28, 1998 respectively.
