Tung Chee Hwa Meets Iranian President

Hong Kong Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa met visiting Iranian President Seyyed Mohammad Khatami on Monday.

During the meeting, Tung Chee Hwa briefed the Iranian President on the progress of the region's economic recovery since the Asian financial crisis, and on Hong Kong's successful implementation of " One Country, Two Systems".

He told Khatami that the government aimed to develop Hong Kong into a hub for innovation and technology in the region.

The Iranian president is in Hong Kong following a visit to the Chinese mainland.
