An ocean-oriented festival will be held in Qingdao, a scenic coastal city in east China's Shandong Province, on July 12-27.
On the schedule of events will be a number of colorful activities, including an international forum on the protection of resources in the offshore area, a showcase of China's achievements using science and technology in ocean development, sports at sea, and seafood dinners.
Located at the southern tip of Shandong Peninsula, Qingdao is a major Chinese city with brisk port trade, advanced programs in ocean research, and rich tourist attractions.
Qingdao has attracted overseas investment from more than 60 multinationals, including Lucent, Hewlett-Packard, Coca Cola, Nestle, Mitsubishi, and Matsushita.
