B747-400s Planes for Sino-American Cargo Service

China Southern Airlines will introduce two B747-400 cargo planes on its Sino-American air route, according to the "China Air Transport Weekly".

The airlines opened the cargo service between Shenzhen and Chicago in April, using B747-200 planes, which are able to fully load 90-ton cargo each. The service will run three times a week.

B747-400 cargo planes, can load 30 more tons of cargo and consume less oil, compared to B747-200 planes, said president Yan Zhiqing.
