Symposium on Network Era and Health Education of Juveniles Held in Beijing
The symposium on Network Era and Health Education of Juveniles was recently held in Beijing. Experts from the circles of education, medical science and sociology from China's inland and juvenile health educationists and people of the networking circle from Hong Kong conducted thorough discussion at the symposium.
Data show that in nine large cities of China including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Xi'an and Wuhan, nearly 30 percent of the families have computers and over 60 percent of the juveniles know how to use computer. Surfing the network has become a major method for acquiring knowledge and over 25.7 percent of the young computer users know the skill of surfing the network.
It is the general view of the participants that with the approach of the network era, the traditional education and the space of education are confronted with great challenge. Under this circumstance, the lagging juvenile health education, especially the sex health education of juveniles, which has long been confined to the traditional education mode, has come across unprecedented problems.
They pointed out that like families and schools, the network culture featuring vividness and visualization, is undertaking the responsibility for creating a civilized and scientific educational environment for juveniles. Hence, they all think that it's highly necessary to build qualified website on juvenile health education.
