Sichuan's Investment Fair Fruitful

Sichuan Province in southwest China signed 98 cooperative agreements worth 13.76 billion yuan with domestic and foreign businessmen during a recent Investment Fair.

The agreements cover transportation, urban construction, environmental protection, building material, medicine, agriculture, tourism and real estate.

More than 1,000 enterprises from the United States, Britain, France, Italy, Japan, and other countries and regions, and from 16 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities of China attended the five-day Investment Fair held in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province in southwest China.

Products on display at 1,200 booths included light industry, chemicals, agriculture, electronics, telecommunications, and machinery products.

An international forum on the development of western China was also held during the Fair, sponsored by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the China Chamber of International Commerce, and governments from Sichuan province and the city of Shenzhen in Guangzhou province.
