ARATS Sends Condolences for Taiwan Quake Victims

The Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS) Wednesday sent a message expressing sympathy for the victims of this morning's earthquake.

In a letter to the Taiwan-based Strait Exchange Foundation, ARATS said, "According to Taiwan media reports, an earthquake hit north-central Taiwan at 11:25 a.m., causing deaths, injuries, and leaving many missing."

"Our association expresses deep mourning for our Taiwanese compatriots who died in the disaster. We request that your honorable foundation convey our sincere condolences to the families of the dead and the injured," it added.
