It has been decided that the "2000 Asian International Tourism Exhibition" is scheduled to be held in the Hong Kong Convention Exhibition Center from September 14 to 16. Meanwhile, the Global Tourism Agencies Federation will also hold the fourth council conference of the Asia-Pacific region in Hong Kong on September 15.
It is reported that the business volume of the Asia-Pacific region union accounts for 24 percent of the total of the global tourist industry. The union has 15 members in the region, including China's inland, Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Brunei, Solomon Islands, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, and 16,000 members of the Federation.
This exhibition is sponsored by the institution of the world's largest tourism exhibition - Berlin Tourism Exhibition, and the global leading exhibition organizer as well as a publisher of specialized publications. The first Asian International Tourism Exhibition last year made brilliant achievements, and has thus been honored as a milestone in Asia-Pacific tourism and a real international specialized tourism and trade exhibition held in Asia. Presently, the Business Office of the US General Consulate in Hong Kong has announced that it will support this exhibition and make joint efforts to promote it among the US tourist circle.
Giving support to the exhibition also include the International Air Transport Association, the Global Tourism Agencies Federation, the World Travel Organization and other world tourist institutions.
