4000 Tibetans Rescued Out of Disastrous Debris Flows

News reports from Tibet say that 4000 stranded Tibetans facing onrushing disastrous debris flows April 9 have all been helped out of danger April 17 by a PLA armed police force of over 1000 officials and rank and file in Zhannulong Mountain, Bomi County, Tibet.

Disastrous debris flows broke out due to an avalanche in Zhannulong Mountain, Yigong village, at 8pm., April 9. More than 4000 Tibetans from Yigong, Bagai villages, flagstone factory, flooring factory and tea-producing factory were dangerously entrapped in mudflows of the mountain. Soon after getting wind of the disaster, a 1000-strong PLA force were immediately sent by PLA Tibetan Military Command to the rescue of the Tibetans entrapped. These PLA fighters fought 7 days and nights and finally helped all those of 4000 Tibetans stranded to safety out of the mountain.
