Henan, the most populous province in central China, opened its trade fair for the year 2000 Sunday, drawing more than 1,000 people from 43 countries and regions at the opening ceremony.
The three-day trade fair, jointly sponsored by the People's Government of Henan Province and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, will offer more than 500 projects for overseas businesspersons with the investment expected to exceed US$ one billion.
Henan is known for its abundant land, mineral and labor resources.
Present at the opening ceremony were businesspeople from Canada, Japan, the Republic of Korea and representatives from the Henan's sister provinces abroad and diplomatic envoys in China.
