China produced 1.648 million motorcycles in the first two months this year, up 26 percent on a yearly basis, according to a State Administration of Machinery Industry report.
China sold 1.617 million motorcycles during the two months, an increase of 13 percent.
These figures include 1.594 million two-wheeled motorcycles, a rise of 26 percent over a year ago, and 54,000 three-wheeled motorcycles, an increase of 11 percent.
The sector exported 60,000 motorcycles in February alone, up 372 percent over the same month last year, earning 30.62 million US dollars.
