Mainland's Exports to Hong Kong soared in January
China mainland's exports to its major ten trade partners have all increased by more than 20 percent, among which exports to Hong Kong hit 3.37 billion US dollars, a remarkable 66.3 percent increase.
Hong Kong becomes the second largest export destination, only next to the United States.
The sharp increase owes much to the low base last year, some analysts said.
The exports of mechanical and electrical products amounts to 6.76 billion, increasing by more than 40 percent. Textile products, shoes, toys and plastic products that dropped early last year, shows a vigorous rebound with their respective growth between 37% and 75%.
On the other hand, timber and petroleum imports increase dramatically by 83 percent and 130 percent respectively.
