China Beijing's Great Hall of People to be Renovated

The interior of the Great Hall of the People, one of Beijing's most famous buildings, will be renovated this year with the approval of the State Council.

The building's security system will be enhanced, and the majority of the wooden materials inside the building will be replaced by non-flammable materials.

The work is likely to start at the end of March and finish in September, the report said.

The exterior of the building was renovated last year.
