Culture Guilin to Greet 200,000 Tourists During Spring Festival

Guilin, the world-famous tourist destination in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, expects to receive about 200,000 domestic and overseas tourists during this year's Spring Festival season in early February.

According to local sources, during the February 4-11 period, these tourists will visit the city's historical sites and natural landscapes such as the Lijiang River.

Decorated with traditional Chinese holiday articles, local hotels and restaurants are ready to welcome the guests with various programs.

Booming tourism during Spring Festival will bring the city's tourist industry a good start for the year, said one local tourism official.

The city government has promulgated a series of regulations to supervise and standardize tourism services and programs during the holiday period, the official said.

At the same time, the city has added charter flights and special trains to ease transportation pressure during the holiday.

Guilin received a total of 8.98 million tourists from around the world last year, earning 3.66 billion yuan, he added.
