Business Yunnan's Tourism Not Affected by Earthquakes

The two earthquakes that jolted southwest China's Yunnan Province Saturday morning did not damage the nearby tourist destinations.

Tourism industry in Yunnan, a famous tourist attraction in China, would not be affected by the quakes, local tourism officials say.

"Dali felt the strong quakes, yet all the tourism infrastructures are in good condition," said Li Yingde, head of the Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, stressing that "tourism industry will not be affected. "

Dali, a scenic spot only some 70 kilometers away from the epicenter of the earthquakes, is lucky to see that its three towers, a monument and a Buddhist temple built during the Tang Dynasty (6178-907) and the Five Dynasties (907-960) are still intact.

The railway and highway between Kunming, capital city of Yunnan Province, and Dali City, remain intact while communications service is still available.

All scenic spots in Kunming were open to tourists although the capital city also felt the tremor. (Xinhua)
